Family Law

Should you need a divorce, Alexander, Odunze & Kang LLP can represent you. To explain briefly the divorce process, the case officially begins when a complaint is filed with the court. Then Motions for Temporary Orders may be filed and remain in effect for the duration of the divorce proceedings. If a minor child is involved then COPE Parenting Class may be required. Pursuant to Nevada Revised Statutes 3.475, all parties are required to attempt a mandatory mediation for child custody and visitation issues. Then an Answer is filed by the Defendant. If both parties agree on all issues, then Summary Proceedings are held. If contested, then the divorce case goes to trial. Finally, the decree of divorce is filed.
